Transport & Delivery

The most commonly used methods of delivering a container is by Tilt tray or Side loading vehicle. Other methods of delivery include standard flatbed vehicles where lifting equipment such as a forklift or mobile crane is available on site for final placement.

Tilt tray

If using a tilt tray, the container is gently slid off the rear of the vehicle. The ground must be level and stable for the loading and unloading process. Make sure that there are no obstructions where the container will be placed. It is best to know which way you want the container doors facing to ensure the container is put in its correct position.

Tilt tray clearances (General containers)

Height Clearance 16 feet (4.85 mtrs)
Length Clearance 40 feet (12 mtrs)

Side Loading

This type of vehicle loads and unloads from the right side (driver side) of the vehicle. Container door position, level surface and obstructions are also important when considering where you want the container delivered.

20’ Side loading clearances (General containers)

Height Clearance 15 feet (4.5 mtrs)
